Acupuncture pricing

Phoenix Community Acupuncture aims to make acupuncture treatments as accessible and affordable for as many people as possible.  How much you pay does not effect the quality or length of treatment.

Community Room

Sliding scale ranges from $30 to $60 with a one time new patient fee of $10.

Private Room

Sliding scale ranges from $60 to $120 with a one time new patient fee of $10.  Cosmetic and body sculpting sliding scale is $90-180.

If you need to pay the low end of the scale, we want you to do that.

No matter how much you pay, we want you to be able to get as much acupuncture as you need to see a real difference in your health concerns. Not only does your life improve, but then you can tell other people about how acupuncture helped you! And that helps us reach more new patients, and fulfill our mission.

So, if paying more than the low end would prevent you from getting as much acupuncture as you need, we do not want you to pay more. We want you to get enough acupuncture. If $30 a treatment is preventative, please speak with your acupuncturist.

We want you to know that every dollar counts.

If you are able, paying above the low end makes a real difference for us. PhxCA needs an average of $45 to be sustainable for the long term. It ensures we can pay our bills and keep the doors open and pay staff a living wage. It also helps us create a buffer in case of emergency and the clinic has to close due to illness or family emergency.

How do I know how much to pay?

This is very personal and we do not ask for any income verification. We leave this entirely to you, however below are a few frameworks to help you make your decision. However you land we appreciate you being part of our community!

We do NOT take Insurance - We get this question a lot and the truth is we wish we could….

The community acupuncture model works because we can see many people an hour. Those people pay a fraction of the cost of what other acupuncturists charge making it affordable and accessible. Insurance requirements would cut our capacity to half that. More exactly - we currently have the ability to treat 9 patients per hour, if we billed insurance, we would not be able to see more than 4 patients per hour. This is because they use billing codes that require 15 minutes per code. They also only pay $30 for the first code, so not only would we treat half the amount of people, but the remaining patients would have to carry the burden of the low insurance pay out.

Plainly- the base price of $30 for community acupuncture would triple becoming $90. We do NOT want to do that. Although it may seem that insurance makes it more accessible, it unfortunately has the opposite effect.

We do accept HSA and FSA cards as payment. And we can provide superbills for potential reimbursement from your insurance, but we do not guarantee that your insurance company will do so. If you need receipts or superbills, please let us know at your appointment as we cannot back date superbills unless you can provide proof of payments.

As always, let us know if you have any questions or concerns about cost or payment.  We’re more than happy to chat with you about it.
